Open-Air for Artists-Teachers Took Place in the Frames of the “In My Homeland” Project

In the open-air, which took place on 22-27 August in the Green Cross Belarus educational centre, took part 14 teachers of art schools and studios from the Vitebsk, Gomel, Grodno, Minsk and Mogilev oblasts of Belarus.

Participants had an opportunity to forget their teaching responsibilities and fully enjoy the artistic experience. Literary and musical salons, meetings and excursions supported the artistic atmosphere of the open-air.

In the words of the “In My Homeland” project coordinator the idea of summer open-airs not only for children but as well for teachers had been in the air for a long time already, as for a teacher it is really important to stay an artist. This idea was inspired by the example of the Omsk oblast, Bashkortostan, where annual open-airs for teachers – school, city, regional – are regular. This time only Belarusian teachers took part in the open-air, but we plan to make it open for the colleagues from abroad.

Open-air ended with a final showing of works to which a number of guest artists came, among them artist Leonid GOMONOV,
the head of the International Contest “In My Homeland” jury board. Each artist-teacher received a participation diploma.
