The 9th International exhibition “In My Homeland” took place in MinskIn the exhibition 449 works from 19 countries took part: Argentina, Armenia, Belarus, Bulgaria, Hungary, India, Indonesia, Iran, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Russia, Serbia, Slovenia, Tajikistan, Turkey, Ukraine, Sri Lanka. Wealth of methods and techniques, a variety of artistic and cultural traditions and a unique flavor of each region have helped to gather a collection of bright children's art. The exhibition was opened on April 10 in the halls of the Republican Center for Ecology and local history and in the art gallery "University of Culture ". On the same day the award of contest winners took place. Following the tradition, the artist Leonid GOMONOV presented the young artists with awards. The children got presents from representative body of ROSSOTRYDNICHESTVO in the Republic of Belarus, LLC “Palitra”, publishing house “Minar” and a musical congratulation from the dancing group “Nairi”, Armenian Sunday school, Anastasia Legejda, Victoria Katsuba and from artists of wandering orchestra Vuraj. The representatives of Minsk international women club from Ukraine, Armenia,Tajikistan headed by the club president Charila BULEGENOVA, the spouse of Kazakhstan ambassador in the Republic of Belarus, congratulated the children and presented them with medals. The ladies were seeing into the exposition for a long time and at the distance recognized the works sent by children from their native countries: “This is the manner of drawing in my country. I have known these colors and motives since my childhood”. Ten special diplomas in environmental category from the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection of Belarus were handed to the children by the Ministry spokesperson Olga LELYUKOVA. On the opening of the central part of the exposition in the art gallery “University of culture” both the chairman of the contest steering committee, the director of Green Cross Belarus Vladimir SHEVTSOV and Deputy Head of the Delegation of ROSSOTRYDNICHESTVO in the Republic of Belarus, the First Secretary of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Belarus Viktor MICHYRIN greeted the guests of the exhibition. A welcome letter from the Deputy Minister of Culture of the Republic of Belarus Vasiliy CHERNICA was read out to the contest winners Another guest of the exhibition - UNDP Resident Representative in Belarus Sanaka SAMARASINHA from Sri Lanka with his family was impressed by the exposition and invited the organizers to cooperate with the Women's College in Colombo and to participate in their art competition. The exhibition will be open until the 22 of April in the art gallery “University of culture” and up to the 2-nd of May in the Republican Center for Ecology and local study.
