Terms of the 15th International Contest of Art and Graphics “In My Homeland”

The NGO “Green Cross Belarus” in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection of the Republic of Belarus supported by the International Art Public Organization (IAPO) “Union of Artists-Teachers” announces the 15th International Contest of Art and Graphics “In My Homeland”:

CONTEST TOPICS:
“In My Homeland”
is a traditional free topic of the Contest.
The most interesting works that you send to the contest are usually those that are related to your personal impressions, experiences, events. Try to take a closer look at the world around you and reflect in the works that you did not leave indifferent. It may be something unusual or, conversely, all familiar. After all, re-discovering things that are familiar to us is also the task of the artist. It is the work with such "discoveries" I would like to see in our contest " In My Homeland".

«The Harvest»
Since ancient times, artists and architects have used the image of a cornucopia filled with fruits, images of garlands with vegetables and fruits as symbols of prosperity and wealth. A good harvest and well-being are concepts that always go alongside. Each person has his own personal images and memories associated with the harvest: the very first, most delicious harvest in summer cottages, a trip to the vitamin shop to the market, Honey Fest or an abundance of earthly fruits at the Harvest festival, the smell of raspberry or cherry jam, full baskets of forest gifts - berries and mushrooms...

The participants of our competition live in different parts of the world: somewhere the northern cloudberry grows well, somewhere watermelons and melons, olives and dates, pineapples and bananas grow... And we are sure that your drawings on the crop theme will show how the Earth on which we live is generous and rich - you only need to be able to see it.

«World War II: cities and people»
In the history of peoples there are fateful times when the question arises - to be or not to be. Only through incredible exertion of spirit and great sacrifices can we remain faithful to ourselves and our path.

One of the significant events in the history of the 20th century is the World War II. Almost 75 years have passed since it flashed across the Earth with a whirlwind of fire, destroying and devastating cities and villages, taking with it millions of lives. There was no family in which she would not bring destruction and pain. Decades have gone to restore houses, factories and power plants, to heal deep family wounds, to establish a quiet life, to start smiling without tears. Several generations have changed since then, few eyewitnesses and even less veterans remain.

We offer to reveal the theme of war in the history of your family, city, village. These can be drawings based on the stories and memoirs of your near and dear ones, portraits of your ancestors - participants in battles and rear workers, illustrations for letters from and to the front, live pictures of the history of your family, city, village in that difficult and unforgettable time. We are waiting for any plots, sketches, portraits, illustrations made in any technique from you.
